Equestrianism and Polo where central themes at the Campo de Gibraltar Municipal Association’s Stand in FITUR. Mr Antonio Ortiz, President of Santa María Polo Club, San Roque’s Major Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, Toursim councillor Dolores Marchena and Luis Ángel Fernández, president of the Association presented the activities to be taken on during the tourism fair for the promotion of the region.
The 48th International Summer Polo Tournament will star on the last week of July and will last until the 31st of August with the celebration of the Gold Cup Final. As in every Summer, the show of polo will be accompanied by shopping, culinary offers and music, beginning every afternoon at 5 pm until 11.00.
High Handicap teams are already confirming their participation, bringing horses from the UK, France, USA and Dubai that will be played by the best players in the world. Thrill is assured! A perfect family outing for a Summer evening in which everyone will find some interesting activity from finding beautiful Panama hats in the stalls, to drinking a Mojito while watching polo and children are having fun at the Kid’s Area…
Polo will not be alone as a new exciting project is already underway, the Santa María Equestrian Club, which will hold the highest levels of Show Jumping competitions. Autumn and Spring will welcome showjumpers from central Europe who look for a sunny spot to train their upcoming horses and need perfect facilities such as All -Weather Arenas, the club has now two Klaus Dammann arenas, measuring 10.000 square Meters the one destined for competitions. Long term liveries are welcome as part of the Club and will be offered the best care for the horses.
