Continúa el 46º Torneo Internacional de Polo con partidos hoy de la Copa de Oro Santa María Polo Club de alto hándicap y de la Copa de Oro Isolas 1892 de bajo hándicap en las canchas de Los Pinos y Puente de Hierro, respectivamente.
Lechuza Caracas está imparable en la Copa de Oro Santa María Polo Club y sigue sumando triunfos en el 46º Torneo Internacional de Polo donde se mantiene invicto desde que comenzó su participación en la Copa de Plata Maserati. El equipo que lidera el 10 goles de hándicap, Juan Martín Nero, ha derrotado hoy a Dos Lunas A&G Banca Privada en un disputado encuentro por 9 a 8 y suma dos triunfos en sus dos encuentros disputados, en el trofeo más importante de la temporada.
Ha sido un gran partido de polo, con Dos Lunas A&G Banca Privada jugando a gran nivel y obligando a Lechuza Caracas a darlo todo. El resultado se mantuvo incierto hasta el final ya que estuvieron igualados con 8 goles con menos de minuto y medio por jugar. Pero dos jugadas claves, bien gestionadas por los talentosos 10 goles de hándicap, Juan Martín Nero y David Stirling Jr., han terminado volcando el resultado en favor de Lechuza Caracas.
Tras el partido, David Stirling Jr. (Lechuza Caracas), ha declarado que “estamos muy contentos, ganamos un partido muy duro y que era muy importante ya que nos deja con pie y medio en las semifinales de la Copa de Oro a falta de dos partidos. Y eso es un plus para poder administrar la caballada que viene de una temporada muy dura y en estas instancias poder jugar pensando también en el caballo es muy importante”.
Stirling ha destacado que “está todo muy igualado en esta Copa de Oro, creo que el que viene un poco más sobrado es Ayala pero el resto está muy igualado. Además se viene una seguidilla de partidos importante donde la caballada va a ser clave. En ese sentido Lechuza Caracas está bien pero también es cierto que venimos de ganar una Copa de Plata repitiendo caballos y enseguida comenzó la Copa de Oro. En este torneo día por medio tenemos partido y el caballo lo va sintiendo pero el triunfo de hoy nos da la oportunidad de administrar más y mejor la caballada”. La Copa de Oro Santa María Polo Club regresa mañana con otro atractivo encuentro ya que desde las 19:00, y en la cancha 3, se medirán La Indiana y Dubai Polo Team.
Copa de Oro Isolas 1892 de bajo hándicap
La Clarita y Jolly Rogers se mantienen invictos en la Copa de Oro Isolas 1892 de bajo hándicap después de que se haya disputado la segunda jornada esta mañana en las canchas de Puente de Hierro de Santa María Polo Club, organizador del 46º Torneo Internacional de Polo. La Clarita ha vencido en un disputado encuentro a La Mangosta por 10 a 9 al tiempo que Jolly Rogers King of Polo se ha llevado los dos puntos ante Sapphire en el chukker suplementario por 12 a 11. En el partido de última hora, FCT Sotovila ha logrado el triunfo ante Sardañola por un claro 10 a 3. La tercera jornada de este trofeo se jugará al completo el próximo lunes.
De otro lado, la Copa de Oro Aerolíneas Argentinas de mediano hándicap regresa mañana a Los Pinos con un único partido. Desde las 18:00 se enfrentarán en la cancha 1, Sainte Mesme y Twenty 20. Las Copas de Oro del 46º Torneo Internacional de Polo del Santa María Polo Club afrontan su ecuador este fin de semana con partidos de mediano y alto hándicap de las Copas de Oro Aerolíneas Argentinas y Santa María Polo Club, respectivamente.
La competición está pensada además para maximizar la experiencia de ocio a todos aquellos que apuestan por el espectáculo del polo y por eso pone a disposición de los asistentes un área con multitud de tiendas, con grandes marcas y ropa artesanal, y otra zona, bajo el nombre de Gastro Garden, con puestos para disfrutar de la gastronomía de distintas regiones y una cerveza Estrella Damm bien fría. Para los niños se ha pensado el Kids Area, con juegos y castillos hinchables y la supervisión de monitores, y para aquellos que quieren vivir al máximo las noches del verano en Sotogrande, el Santa María Polo Club dispone de la discoteca Afterpolo, con sus DJs residentes que pinchan la mejor música del momento.
